Live Rock?

I have about 40 lbs. of Lace Rock. It is supposed to be the base rock for a Reef. I have (2) 140 Watt VHO (5' bulbs)for lighting. I want to purchase some live rock. If I put live rock adjacent to my non-live base "lace" rock, will it spread. If so how long will it take?
Will my lighting support a reef tank? Curious for the future.

Hard to say, Would depend on the water quality, additives...overall condition of the tank and how "full" your LR already is.

you have 280 watts of light. and they generally say 4-5 watts per gallon for a reef tank. so if your tank is under 70 or 80 gallons then you should have enough light. i was told that live rock would spread to non live rock, but ive never tried it so i dont know how long it would take. but i recommend LR, i think youll like it, and so will your fish.
