Live Rock.

He everyone just had a question can I take live Rock Mrtyel Beach?
. I have one piece that has some sponge and some coralline alge. I also have two other ones that dont have anything on it.

Are you getting it from a store or from the beach? If you are getting it from a stor you shoud be fine. Just cure it if you tank is already established.

1) It may not be legal
2) It may not be the sort of rock you want. There it may not be carbonate rock, but granites and such which are not ideal
3) There may be temperature changes which would lead to significant die off

I'd strongly recommend against this.
As Ophiura said, it most likely is illegal. Also, most coastal areas are heavily polluted, making rock from there a less-than-prudent choice.

Have you had it in water? :notsure:
Odds are if it was washed up the sponge will or is dead.

How is it illegal if it just washed up on the beach??? Thats like saying its illegal to take sea shells form the beach.

you dont want it if its from Myrtle Beach...that means it has dirty red kneck water on it, and it prolly will grow a mullet.
