live rock

i had my tank off 4 about 2 to 3 months my live rock has changed to white is it dead or do i go out and buy new :help: :help: :help: :help:

What do you mean by off? If your rock has stayed wet then it is possible that there is still some beneficial bacteria and organisms left on and in it, my 2 cents would be to take it and re seed it with some fresh live rock in a rubbermaid container for a week or so with a power head and a little light. I am assuming that it was previously purple with coraline algae on it, which is now bleached out and white.
