Live Rock

I have a 55 gallon fowlr and 40lbs of live rock i want to try and induce the growth of purple algae and am not sure if to do so i need to buy better lights. The lights i have now are just standard lights that came with the tank 2 18inch eclipse bulbs. If someone could tell me what some good bulbs would be or good combination of suplements that worked for them i would greatly appreciate it.

better lights will definately be the place to start I would look into PC lighting its a cheaper way to go and you get bang for your buck if you google PC lights or power compact lights you will get many different companies come up .
If you have a canopy you can look into retro fit kits that will screw into the wood canopy I had 220 watts of PC lights on my 55 and the coraline love it.
