I have a 72 gallon tank with crushed coral substrate, lots of coral skeletons, and 3 large lava rocks. If I put a small live rock on each of the lava rocks would the small live rocks culture the lava rocks and make them live. Also can live rocks survive at a low salinity if they are acclimated.

HI Yosh,
I'm not sure about your question.
Are you wanting a reef tank or a fish only with live rock?
And what do you mean "low salinity" ?
Please give more details.

Josh,
Yes, It will take awhile for the LR to turn the Lava, but it can, also in the second ??...you say survive Low salinity..As in Hypo??No, that is why that type of treatment can only be done without reef..And just on fish....
Anything other then fish, is alot more sensitive to salinity changes, or "low salinity"
Hope that was what you were asking

I am just adding my 2 cents here, have you considered changing from CC to LS????
;)
