I situated my base rock all over the tank. I have 3 power heads amidst the rocks, so I have plenty of flow to blow algea spores around. I findthat the coraline algea grows faster where the light is not hitting it directly. There was no specific place that I put the base rock. Seems to have worked out pretty well.
