Live Rock

anybody who is against putting live rock in your tank? my uncle is trying to talk me out of getting it, because it will die quickly he says and i have no way of feeding it...anybody agree. im trying to set up an aggressive tank.

You'll be fine with live rock. It will not die unless you tank it out of water and let it dry.

he was saying that it's going to die on me...and that it's bad to cycle your tank with it because it is live and it will die if all my levels aren't right. and that it causes problems, and what not...anybody had any of these downsides he's talking about? or is he just flat out wrong?

I think he might be wrong, most everyone i know uses live rock to help cycle a tank.
I dont know if he is talking about the die-off a live rock will get if it is shipped but thats about all the dying you get. Live rock will not die unless you keep it out of the water for days, or you put copper in with it!!!!!!!!!!
