Live Rock

I bought Live Rock today and it has significant smooth green and purple pieces on them can anyone describe what they are and what other things should I expect from placing liverock within the tank.

The green and purple sound like encrusting algea of the coralline type. Do either of them wipe off? I have not seen green coralline, so it could be some other type of algea.
You should see some pods develope over the next few weeks as well as some bristle worms, small feather dusters, and a host of other things.

Coralline can be anywhere from light green to deep purple. Some say it depends on the depth and light it grew under.
