I would take the triggers back to the LFS until your tank cycles. The ammonia levels in your tank will kill the triggers. The live rock should be enough to cycle but if you want fish, try a damsel or two.

Holy crap. Take those triggers back to the store now. Try a couple damsels. 2 triggers will be crowded in a 29. Also don't try to put another trigger in their, triggers need lots of space.

Your tank is way too small for even ONE trigger, much less two. I'd take them back. If the cycle doesn't kill them the stress will.Or thet will kill each other. You've got enough rock to get a good cycle,If you have to have fish, get DAMSELS,or CHROMIS.

Jwillis,
I'm glad to hear your triggers are doing well together but soon they will ,no matter how much rock you have, get extremely crowded and become very stressed. First get your tank cycled than try smaller fish such as clownfish or possibly a pygmy angel. I know it sounds like you can't get much in a 29 gallon tank but I know how it feels. I have a 20 gallon. Also it's always a good time to add a little live rock.

I would say probably too much for one tank, but at least for awhile they might work out, so if it is hard to part with them, maybe give it a few weeks, and then look into something else. (I trade in quite a few of my fish because I always want new ones but I don't have the space.) I like to get littler fish so that I can put more fish in a tank. I honestly wouldn't worry about the ammo cycle, but that is just me and I never follow the rules, I have always just added fish as soon as I set up, and I just add a ton of that bacteria in a bottle, and I have never lost a fish, so I must have done something right.
