Live sand and live rock?

Are both live sand and live rock required to cycle a tank? thanks bm

Nope, but having at least one helps start the cycle process. And if you plan to add live rock after the cycle, you will need to cure the rock prior to adding it.

Not mandatory but you will be glad you put them in when you are cycling.

I put both live rock and live sand in my tank to help cycle it. I definately speeds up the cycling process!
