So i needed a bunch of live sand for my new sump/fuge and some more for my sandbed in the DT. I found a good deal on CL and got them home in 2 5 gallon buckets that are each about 3/4 full with water over the top of the sand.
my question is, what is the best way to handle this sand? Its been in a fish tank with nothing but saltwater and the sand in it for about 1 month now.
my tank has been up and running for about 4 months and about 3/4 of my LR came from the same tank as this sand.
Should I just sift out the water and put it in the refugium or should I actually like clean it in fresh RO water or something for any reason?
I was just going to add agronite to the existinga nd let it seed, but this was a really good deal on all this sand.
Also looks like I will probably have more than I need for my 2" sandbed, should I go deeper than that or just give the remainder to a friend in need?
how deep should the sand in the fuge be?
sorry so many questions, jsut don't want to mess it up somehow.
