Welcome to the forum!
To answer your question...I've never ordered LS from here. But several active members have. Its been reported that the stuff is full of micro fauna...worms/pods/mini stars etc. I've never seen any of it first hand though.

Greetings,
Just wanted to stop by and say Welcome to the forum.
From some of the feedback that I have read on SWF livesand it is white in color, more course than southdown, and does contain worms and pods in it. But I have not oredered it personally.

When I was PO'ed about the LS from SWF.com
Guess I still am.
FYI LS from swf.com is not just sand, it is full of large chunks of stuff, crushed shells and stuff. I had a nice bed of fine sand and liked it. But I guess it will all get mixed up anyway
As for the LS... disappointed.
I had 80 pounds of dead aragonite and 80 pounds of natures oceans LS sand.
I loved the sand. Very fine.
The SWF.com LS was not sand. It was more like LCR & SCC w/ALS.
( live crushed rock & some crushed coral w/ a little sand)
I know it will all sort itself out with the little stuff setteling down to the bottom but if I had to do it all over again I would go with all sand. No crushed anything. Just sand.

I am not sure. It was added to a tank that already had a lot of LR
Critters were all ready there.
Sorry.

I've added 120 lbs of Aragonite last week. I dont have anyone around with a marine tank so thats why I was going to order it from here, like 20 lbs to seed it.
is there a way to buy the little crittles or do you know of a place I can order it thats better

I live in north florida.
The new problem, and you can see this for yourself at my webcam. I added 4 hermit and one sally lightfoot just for kicks until I order everything. Now my tank is fogging because they're running around stirring up the aragonite.
hehehe it's like sugar so it's everywhere. Would the ls from saltwaterfish.com be a good idea since it's chucky?, this way the heavier stuff would be on top. What do you think?

Now, in states that southdown is NOT available, they ARE packaging aragonite in the walmart bags...
Just depends on where you are..> Only guarantee is the vinager test.. My 500 lbs of sand failed the test...:( Oh well - I used it anyway. It'll be fine for what I want. Plus now the kids get a nice bright white sandbox to play in.

Are you talking about the white caribbean beach sand @ wal-mart??? it is bagged in Illinois .... if not what are you talking about?

Yep, I had order LS from SWF.com As someone already mention, it mixes CC, sand and some chunks of rock. I didn't see any stars or pods or worms (but I don't like any kind of worm). I just didn't see any living thing in it. But it does have a nice white color.
