Live sand mix?

I'm trying to make the transition from crushed coral to live sand and wanted to see what other people have done with their live sand. I've heard people say that they mix regular sand with live sand to sead it? What kind of regular sand would you use, where would you get it, and what proportions with the live sand. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Depending on where you live you can buy South Down Tropical play sand for the majority of your sand at $3.84 a bag at Home Depot in the gardening section. Then seed it with a couple of pounds of live sand , live rock, or a detrivore kit.
