live sand question

if u add live sand to a sand bed will it turn the rest of the sand live? i have 1 to 2 inches of playsand inn there that ig ot from the hardware store should i add live sand to this?? thanks in advance

Yes. Bacteria from the live sand will spread into the other sand. It will become live if there are live critters in the sand as well, and will help the sand more.
