Live Sand

I have a question about live sand. I just added it to my tank which contains about 100pds. of live rock. I couldn't remove all of the rock from the tank so I shifted it side to side. My problem is the sand created a white cloudy build-up in the water. When it finally settled, all my live rock was covered with this build-up.I have tried gently shaking the rock in the water, but this only got some of the substance off. When it settles again, the rock looks partly cloudy again. Can anyone tell me if this will clear off the rocks. or if there is something else I should try? I want to get the color back in the rocks. Any suggestions would help. Thanks, Dilligaf

If all that has settled on the rock is sand dust, get yourself a $1.99 turkey baster and use it to gently remove the dust.

use a baster or make sure your filter is running at full setting and just fan it off using your hand .... ..... ......

I blasted my rock with one of my powerheades.
Meanwhile I had another one on reverse collecting the silt into a filter bag. So it kind of was like a makeshift vaccum using two powerheads, 1 to blow and the 2nd to suck.
Have your normal filters run on high.
