Live Sand???????

IS it ok to get sand out of the ocean and put it in a SW tank for live sand????? Can i just go to the ocean like in florida and walk out alittle and get buckets of sand and use it as my live sand????

No because think how many people/chemicals and all that stuff is in there. Sand we get I believe is way off the coast. Your tank would be cluttered with bad stuff you dont want. It would also be considered stealing property I believe..just get some at your LFS or you can buy some through a hardware store if its the correct kind.

I 2nd this. Sand, unless a good distance off shore, is dirty and it's illegal to do.
