Liverock losing color/coralline algae.

Over the years I have noticed that my live rock has been losing it's color. Some have turned white. Is this due to low calcium or urchins eating the coralline? Thanks,

i have an urchin and it cleaned off one side of a piece of rock about 2 weeks ago and i am already starting to get more coraline growth on the piece that was cleaned (eaten) and though out the tank

I've never checked my calcium levels and I change my pc lights 1x/year. Thanks for the help.

pc's should be changed every 6 months. the color spectrum can change and cause undesireable algae growth.

eiher your calicum or alkalinity is low and your tank is breaking down the coraline to try to suppliment it

Can't say for certain what is happening in your tank but;
Urchins do eat coralline.
PC bulbs should be changed regularly, 6 to 8 months.
Calcium, alkalinity and magnesium need to maintained at natural sea water levels.
To facilitate good coralline growth.
