I have purchased these snails off ---- to only find out that another seller says this type of snail has a short life span. Is this true??? If so how short??

I think what they really failed to tell ya was that these are mud snails and are predatory on some desireable fauna.

Ilyanassa obsoleta are "mud snails"... that is their common name. They are not a productive member of your clean of crew. They are predatory whelks. A search on google using the spelling I provided will get you tons of hits.
