I purchased a Lobo Brain about two weeks ago and have yet to see it open up. The skeleton still has color to it and has shown no signs of bleaching. What could I be doing wrong? I have it placed at the bottom with direct light and strong moderate flow.
what kind of light was it under where you bought it? maybe you are shocking it with light that is stronger than its used to?
What are the tank specs: size/lighting/flow/how long has it been up?
and what are the tank inhabitants?
Are your parameters in check?
Jess
Too much flow may be the problem. As Shrimpi said, we need more info.
They won't open if they are blasted with flow, can't balloon up, if it is constantly being pushed down.
I ordered it online and have no idea how many watts. I have over 4 watts per gallon, and all my water conditions are near perfect. Has far as flow goes I have tried to place the coral in an area that gets medium flow.
I have lately started to see a little bit of green fleshy tissue appear.
from the pic, it looks fine. have u tried feeding it? feeding it should make its feeding tenticles come out. lobo actually needs medium to strong light depending on the kind of light u hv. looks like u hv powercompact, so no lighting shocked there.
yeah i have 48 watts PC 50/50 on a 12g nano. has far as feeding goes i have not even attempted to. what is the best way to feed this species of brain? will it take frozen food?
