Hello as soon as I get my sump project up and running I was wondering how or if you guys drilled a hole in the return line for breaking the siphone when the power goes out. Or if you adjust it so its with in 2 inches of the surface.

Pretty much... just drill a hole in the locline someplace near the surface of the water. That's all there is to it.

I also drilled a hole in my locline, just be sure to keep an eye on it so the hole does not get covered by coralline algea, I learned that on the hard way

Thanks for the input I think ill end up drilling 2 holes. What size of holes have you been drill 1/16th, 1/8th, 3/16th, or bigger.

I think I did 1/8, and i drilled the hole on the side so that water would not spray straight up when the pump was running.
