LOL, the OSU Beavers have dyed their practice field "smurf blue".

Hopefully this will help them with their upcoming game this weekend against Boise St. I really would like to see Boise St. man-up and get rid of that smurf turf now that they are trying so hard to play at a national level and having some success because I remember last time the Beavers got destroyed by Boise St. that field and the matching uniforms seemed pretty much like a "legal" cheat to me and it also makes it harder to follow the game.

I had heard the "excuse" Boise St had for this was they are right in route of migrating ducks, and painting the field blue kept the ducks from landing on it and then pooping all over it.

Nonetheless....Go Beavers.

Well they are on the Boise River. And there are a lot of migratory birds through the area. But since the birds are drawn to water after a day of flying and land en masse on the river at night, I'm not sure that would cure the problem. Heck I'm a BSU alum and never really thought about it or heard why they do it. I like it though, it is different. And the NCAA has done too much to homogonize the sport. A little character makes for a more interesting game.

Texas got schooled. UCLA looked pretty good. Not sure where that came from.

Had Arkansas's QB not choked Bama might have lost.

Yeah, how about UCLA the last 2 weeks...Go 0-2, then thump Houstan, then hammer Texas in Austin.

I stayed up until the start of the 4th quarter of the ASU/Oregon game and recorded the 4th, was shocked that neither scored at all in the 4th after what a shootout the 1st 3 were.

I turned on the Boise St. game, and after a couple of minutes, I thought I was going to have a seizure looking at that blue field. It's no wonder why Boise St. won. The Oregon St. platers kept losing site of the Boise St. players because they blended into the field.
