Long Nosed Hawk Fish

Yesterday I saw a this cool fish. Anybody eve keep any of these? There mouth must be huge. Do they perch and jump at large pices of food? Looks like a fun fish. Not for me and my 20. This guy was already almost 3 inches, how big do they get?
Window shopping is fun, and the price is right!

My wife had one a long time ago and she loved it. From her accounts, yes, they do perch on a rock a wait to swoop down on passing food. Hers had a great personality, which I believe is characteristic of this fish. From everything I have read about them they max out on size at about five inches. Again, their long narrow mouth is deceptive of how wide they can open it. We are just setting up a tank and we will be getting one soon.

This must have not been a youngster I saw, maybe over a year old. Great color and eyes, I didn't watch him/her long bu from the look on its face, I could see the "great" personality you are all talking about.

Great fish. Pretty hardy and interesting antics. Will get about 3-4 inches in captivity. Tight cover necessary as mine jumped out of the tank about two weeks ago!

Neat fish, they get about 6inches long, and they LOVE to eat shrimp especially any cleaner shrimp like scarlet, banded coral, or even Arrow crabs!
