Long-Spined Porcupinefish

From months and months of amazement of this fish at my local pet store I finally bought one! The first night I brought him home he was doing great, I had put him in a tank with four other fish, niger trigger, rectangular trigger, dragon wrasse, and a foxface. Both triggers tried to nip at him but he was quick to show him who the boss was. The wrasse and foxface don't bother him.
While feeding the fish just some flake food I had noticed that the puffer didn't eat. I went and bought some meaty frozen food today. When I came home to feed him he was just sitting on the bottom of the tank. At first sight I thought he was dead. Then I took a closer look and he was just sitting there looking around back and fourth. I put my finger on the tank (not tapping) and he swam up to it and then swam around a bit. Not but five minutes later he was at the bottom again sitting still and looking all around? So I thawed a piece of the food and dropped it, after shooing the triggers away he came and ate quite a bit of food. He was swimming around again. I then proceeded with my night, but I just went back into to look and well he was sitting at the bottom again looking around.
It seem that whenever I come into the room he gets up and swims around? Is this normal or is he dying?
Please advice
thank you

im not sure about it being normal, one of the smarter guys would have to tell you that, but the one in my lfs show tank does this. it sits on the bottom and when someone walks by he comes up to greet him. he is a very healty looking fish that has done this for years, so i assume it is normal, but not real sure. Later, bo

HI, our pork does the same thing but, instead of on the bottom he wedges himself inbetween one of the ledges I created and just sits there looking around, as I have read porks donot have a tail bone and this tends to make there swimming stressfull, so they take a break now and then...cya,,,fixit

Thanks!! The porcupine is doing just fine, he does just "take a break" in one corner every now and again?! He is eating because I almost hand feed him!! What type of food do you give yours? I just got what the pet store suggested! Just lookin for other types of food.

Frozen Packaged Krill, Squid, Formula 1 & 2 Cubes cut up into pieces, live Blackworms, Live and Frozen Brine, and Mysis shrimp. These are the foods my Puffers like and if I had to say their favorite it would be the Krill they all love it.
