Does anyone know haw fast these guys grow? Are they like groupers that go from 2 to 10 inches in a sinle year or do they grow slower?

is it selene settipinis or seleve volmer?? settipinis has a threaded first dorsal fin....both are a part of the jack family

Yeah I know they get big I'm wondering how fast they grow. I was thinking about gettting 3 or 4 at around 7 to 8 inches each and putting them in a 240 but don't want to do it if they gonna grow so fast that I have to take them to an aqaurium in like a year.

I have never seen them much smaller than the size of a plate . always big fish . As far as how fast they grow , I'm not really sure .

IME, better displayed in a circular tank...cool fish but one I would avoid in most systems. They are also frequently picked on by other fish so that is a significant consideration..
