coral beauty is to big for a 20 gallon, i would recommend a basslet, wrasse, or dottyback. gobies also would work.

How about a psuedochromis or a green reef chromis? Both are pretty hardy and reasonably inexpensive.

<----guilty of piggy backing: What kind of a wrasse would be suitable for a 24g? I see them at the store and they look like they need alot of swimming room. Would one of them go good with two maroons?

I think i would stay away from wrasse in a nano. I have a blue figi chromi, royal gramma and a sleeper head goby. They live fine in harmony. The Royal gramma can get grumpy at times. He just opens his mouth really big, like he is yelling, and goes about his business. I have never seen him attack anything. He chased the sleeper goby around when we first put him in, but they got along eventually.
Rad- Maroons are going to get fairly big, too big for a Nano imo. The females get pretty large.
You could also look into getting a clown goby. They are pretty cool and relatively inexspensive.

Psuedochomis's don't like to be around fish that are very similar to them, like dart fish or gobbies. Everything else they're pretty indifferent to. And not much seperates a royal gramma from a psuedochromis.

Was he the first fish you added to the tank? If so, then he's probably more territorial. I've had psuedos for years without any real problems, except for the time I tried to add a firefish. Yes, they can be aggressive, but in my experience they're generally content to do their own thing most of the time. The bicolor I have now seems most occupied with excavating the sand bed. He pays no real attention to my two clowns or my green reef chromis.
