Looking for advice

I'm looking into getting an Aqua C 180 skimmer but just read about denitrators. Can a denitrator take the place of a skimmer? My nitrates are off the chart due to my well water. I have just finished setting up the RO system so that part of the problem is solved.

Well, a skimmer does help with removing nitrates as it removes dissolved organic compounds.
