I am wanting to get a bigger tank....currently have 14gallon biocube(still new to saltwater). Just wondering if you guys think this is a good deal??? I do plan on bartering on the price. Please give opinions....Would the specs support coral, invertebrae, and anemone? Please see below...
HI to all, I'm selling my 65 Gallon tank. asking $550
50 to 55 lbs. of live rock
1 1/2 inch of white sand bed
130 watt PC
Skimmer
UV Sterilizer
Skilter 400
Magnum 350 Canister
Home made Stand and Canopy top with 2 doors on top and the stand has 4 large size sections for nice storage. I've started a new tank and I like having the smaller one better so I'm just ready to let it go and need the space in my room. It can also come with the fish that are in there now.
1 purple fire fish
2 orange spot gobies
1 blue and orange damsel
1 red coris wrasse
I also have a Chrysurus Angel

I would not want the canister filter. Go with a sump. The rest looks fine. I'm not sure what the price is. You will also get some die off when you transfer. I've only had my tank for a year so wait for the pro's to say something. I'm sure about the canister filter. Go with a sump.

what are you going to use this tank for? if you are going with corals, some of those fish might not work.
the coris wrasse will get big and is a predator of inverts.
the angel will get huge, and will most likely pick at corals.
i don't think the lighting is sufficient for corals/anemone either. otherwise, i don't think there is a need for the skilter 400. find out the brand and model of the skimmer also. that is an important piece of equipment. a good one can really make your life easy, while a bad one will do nothing but clutter up the tank.
the cannister will work if you clean it regularly, but as casper said- a sump with refugium would be my choice as well.
also, you will need a couple powerheads for flow(maybe the guy was using the magnum for this?)

Wait did you say that there is a Chrysurus Angel involved? If you get all that and the angel then yes it is a good deal. I would be willing to take that guy off your hands.

Take all you can get. Sell the fish off. With cash from fish + some from you get better lighting. Sumps and Refuriums cut your work in half. Look in beginners section to get started. There is not alot of live rock you will need more. Expect to pay 5.00 or more a pound. Look at your local craigs list see if someone in your area breaking down. If they are drive over and grab up the live rock. Weather your doing corals or fish only 1 1/2 inches of sand is not enoulf (IMHO) When you get sleepers (If) or other fish that move the sand you will most likely see the bottom glass (Not for me) DO NOT go cheap on your skimmer. DO NOT go cheap on your skimmer. DO NOT go cheap on your skimmer. Get it? Is the sand arginite? If not and not crushed coral, Replace it all with either of those substances. Personally I like canisters. Where the water come in my refurium I put a fluval there. Takes water out cleans puts back in beggining part of the sump. Did you get a picture of the stand? Gotta know what it looks like cause you make deal on phone go look at it and it is butt ugly your going to spend another 200 on a stand. I better stop now
My 2 cents
Grue
