been reading for about a year and finally decided to post
I have a 75gal setup. This same setup has been running for almost 2 years. About 2 months ago i took it over from a buddy and moved the entire thing to my house.
Right now Ive got
a BIG Blonde naso tang. Shes about 5-6 inches
Foxface - big as well
singapore angel
orange line angel
and a tomato clown - this guy is pretty big too
as well as
1 emerald crab
1 chocolate chip star
1 tuxedo urchin
8 turbo snails
2 tonga conchs
1 feather duster
I had 2 4 line damsels and got rid of them after about 4 weeks. they were small but picking on the angels (and on me)
I'm planning on getting rid of the tomato clown soon. He wont stop chasing the foxface and nipping at him
Also will get rid of the foxface. Hes gotten pretty big and would be much happier in a larger tank
so id be left with the naso and the two angels
Thinking about adding (not at the same time)
2 bengai cardinals
1 royal gramma
1 yellow tang
1 blenny, not sure what kind
and maybe one or two more if you guys have suggestions
I want the tank as peaceful as possible. I want to also have a few shrimps and hermits and anything else that would go well
I love this thing but it feels like it just needs more life in it with smaller fish.

Alot of people are probably afraid to post in your thread as you'll most likely get mad or offended.
75gallon is too small for the following:
Blonde naso tang and any other fish longer than 6inches and active...
Also whats the scientific name for your orange lined angel?
you may want to try a school/shoal of blue or green chromis for movement in your tank. maybe a dwarf angel or two if you have alot of rock for hiding places, territory and grazing.
chocolate chips are also fish eaters if they can catch fish, they much on corals too. I'm also not a fan of urchins, they tend to make rock bare.
yellow tangs unless purchased very small should not be kept in a 75gallon because at an adult size of 10inches, they are very cramped.
In the end, its your tank so feel free to do whatever you want. Advice only goes so far these days it seems.

thats why im looking for suggestions.
the other angel is an eibl angel. small one. no corals in the tank. This same setup has been going strong for almost 2 years now, but the clown has turned into a prick against the foxface.

I have a naso in my 75 but he's only around 3 inches. eventually the naso is gonna need a bigger tank. Do you have any pictures of the tank? as for the clown and foxface..you say your getting rid of the clown cause it picks on the foxface but your going to be getting rid of the foxface. I would keep the clown if thats the case. ..just my 2 cents

i agree-- just started over with a 135 gal tank-- fish were too big-- Naso-- 6"+ , Lion 8"+, puffer 6"+
Give the Naso to someone with 300 Gal +

Your Naso isn't big yet, it's still about 1/3 of the size it will grow to. Nasos get up to 18 inches, so I definitely wouldn't keep one in anything smaller than a 210g long term. I'd personally love to have one but know it won't even fit in my 180g. I also don't think a yellow tang should go in your tank either, but you might be able to get by if you get a really small one, and if you put it in last. Yellows get aggressive in small tanks (yes, 75g is small in this context), and it will likely get territorial and attack other fish if it's not added last, so I'd stay away from that one. They're also constant grazers, yellows will pick at rock all day long, and I don't believe you'd have enough live rock in a 75g to keep it happy long term.
The rest of your ideas sound good to me though.

The clown is definately an ahole and going with smaller fish I dont want to clown to turn on them. The foxface has really grown on me but he covers the tank pretty quickly and seems to need more room.

Are you sure youre talking about the chocolate chip star? Its a slow moving scavenger. Ive never heard of anything like this before.

I'm not 100% sold on the idea of having the yellow tang. I have a client who has one in a 20 gal tank which has been there for nearly two years and seems quite happy, thats what got me thinking. If i did end up getting one, like you said Id get the smallest one i could find. Ive seen others with them in smaller tanks and they seem happy. The tang has been the same size for well over a year now. Seems quite content. Swims through all the rockwork, greets me at the front of the tank.
Just trying to get a feel of what combination would work best with these guys. Dont feel brave enough to experiment with it quite yet.
Heres some pics

what kind of filtration, and other equipment do you have?? I personally like the look of alot more liverock. that is quite a bio-load for a 75 is all im thinking.

your angels look really nice. if i were you i would try to build the tank around the angels. angels are almost always the centerpiece of any tank. since they are dwarf angels, you could put some really hardy corals in such as colts. i would sell the foxface and naso (naso is really beautiful), to someone with a larger tank and make some money on them.
