if you are ordering online most places had pictures of what the rock type looks like.
you will always have some dieoff there is no way around that. but not enough to worry about you have to remember fiji eock comes from the fiji islands so its already been out of the water for a few days already most shippers will have wet and moist paper on the rock to help keep the moisture high in the package to help lessen dieoff.
as far as where to buy just look around then research the company some comapnies are better than others just cant post links to other sites. also look at the rock on this site they have a lot of what you will find on the other sites aswell.

I've only ever bought LR from a LFS. That way you can pick out the rocks that you want. There's lots of cool ones that you can't see when you're ordering it online. That's my advice for you.

I got my tank from a online store, run by {edit}. The Rocks came in on time and they where for a very good price.
However they where no hitch hikers except for a lot of worms and now I am having a major algae problem.
but the rocks cycled in three weeks though I waited another 6 weeks after that to put fish in to be sure.

OUT OF RESPECT TO THE OWNER AND OPERATOR OF THIS SITE, PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST, PROVIDE OR DISCUSS LINKS ETC TO OTHER ONLINE STORES, THANKS!
Yes, there will be die off. There is die off within hours, even if precured. Feel free to discuss this, types of LR, etc...but not where to buy it (e.g. SWF sells nice LR).
Thanks.
