looking to start 55 gallon fowlr tank need help

hi im looking to start a 55 gallon fowlr tank.i dont have anything yet i want to price out everything 1st.my questions are how much live rock and sand do i need for a 55 gallon tank?do i need a protein skimmer for this kind of setup? will a wet/dry setup with the bioballs be enough filtration ?thanks for help any brands and products to help me get this going would be much help thanks

you can get some great deals on tanks on c-list alot of people get out of this hobbie.
i just bought a 55 stand,couple pumps for $100
it was fw so i gave all the fw stuff it came with to a friend who keeps them.
coralife makes an affordable skimmer good for a 55 gallon.
personally i feel lr is the key to a good tank.
in a 55 gallon i would buy 70 -80 lbs and put 2 #3 or #4 koralias in there ,if you dont plan a sump get a double biowheel hob filter.
this should give you a great filter system.
