anyone had a lion jump out of your tank? I just bought 2 not to long ago and now all the sudden one is gone no where to be found!!! When i woke up i saw the cat sitting by the tank watching the other lion swim around. I am begining to think the cat went fishing in the middle of the night!!!

you have a cat and a open top tank? thats asking for trouble there, i remember when i was like 7 i had a goldfish and my cat jumped into the tank to get it right in front of me, so chances are the cat got it.
did the cat seem funny for abit? from the sting?

what kind of lionfish was it?
do you run a sump are anything? any open lines it couldof swim in are anything?
and as fare as your cat gose check the secreshions of it and look for limping hard to breath things like that becouse if it did get your lion there is a verry strong chance the lion could of stung it inthe mouth are paw are even hurt its insides during eating. so i would keep a eye on that cat.
but as fare as them sumping i say it is possible and even getting eat bythe cat is two my russle swims the top of the tank almost 24 /7 and so did my dworf i use to have. they liked swimming the rim o;f the tank but i would check hoses are lines in your tank make sure therenot in there if thewre are any not caped off

they are volitans. bodies on them are about 4-5 inches they not to small. Cat is acting the same. Out of the 2 the most active one is the one that is gone. still no signs of him. I only had them for about a week. The one that is left still won't eat anything.

with lions you need to be prepared to feed them live food for as long as it takes. in fact you need to be willing to feed them live food for as long as they live. some just never take frozen:(
mine doesnt and i've had him for 2 and a half months now

Had a 9" V. Lion jump out at 3 in the morning while I was away on business and wife was to scared to put him back in, so he died on the floor.

Isn't that grounds for divorce? Ask her how she would like it if she fell in the water and no one pulled her out.
