lost diamond

Three days ago, i introduced a diamond goby to my tank. He quickly dug himself a home in the sand and i haven't seen him since. and he's not in the hole anymore. Where might he be? i don't see any new holes.

He may have jumped ship, have died and been eaten, or is just hiding under the substrate. It is not uncommon to add a goby to a tank and not see them for days. This only becomes a problem when they are not eating for weeks at a time, but hopefully your little guy is in there adjusting and will come out soon. Who else is in there with him? Some fish will bully and charge a burrow exiting goby repeatedly and then they hardly leave the safety of a burrow.

He's in with a small yellow tang, a domino damsel, a blue damsel, and brittle starfish. Along with a handfull of hermits. He's got to be in there because i checked all around the tank and found nothing.
