Lost Fish

I have lost a fish. I cannot find it anywhere!!! I have moved the rocks and dug around a little in the sand. My question is, can a fish completely disapear (decompose) in a couple of days? It was a small black damsel with a yellow tail. Also, the only other fish that is in there is a black and white damsel. I am puzzled!

In a reef tank, yes it can. Check your ammonia and nitrites over the next few days. The fish may show up afterall.

If you have a good clena up crew you may never see a sign of it. Especially something that small.
