low ph

I just checked my ph and it was 8.0 I put a dose of ph increser in there, but why is my ph low, and how can I keep it higher naturally.
I have a 55 gal FOWLR stocked accordingly:
35 lbs. Of lr
60 lbs. of CC(looking fo southdown)
2 Chocolatechip stars
1 brittle starfish
1 emarald crab
2 margarita snails
4 large mexican turbo snails
3 blue leg hermits
1 coral beauty
2 oscellars clowns
1 Tomato clown(fixing to trade in)
1 carbon cannister filter
1 double waterfall filter
any suggestions?

Hey,
Your pH will cycle throughout the day. You should make sure you check it the same time each day for starters. Also, when you add pH buffer you have to wait quite a while for it to have an effect.
I didn't answer all your questions, but that's all I'm fairly certain about.
