I am going to the lfs tomorrow to pick up the rest of the sand to complete my refug. This week I will be installing the lights but do not have them yet. Before I go and buy pc lighting for the macro-algea (yes i was at lowes today) will t12 with 3000 lumens and 6500k work for growing the macro or will I need to get the pc lighting?
If anyone else is useing these light's and have any information it would be greatly appreciated. I am planing on useing 4 t12 over a 30 gal rubbermaid, any objections?

Thanks I'll gine them a try. I can get them for around 20 for a duel 40w t12 setup. Sounded like a great deal to me and if it dosn't work out it's only 40 bucks lost.

Ive been using 2-24" strips from lowes for 2 years now for my fuge. They are made by lights of america, they are "grow lights"So far so good, I replaced them once for normal maint. They cost around $13 each if I remember right. Good luck

Thanks escape sounds similar to the lights i am looking at. I custom built the cabinet and plan to hang 4-48" t12's from the bottom of the top. I just recently figured out my digital camera to send on e-mail or I'd post a pic :notsure: . I believe the 24" grow light's i saw there were 5000k? is that correct is also says on the box for aquatic plants. The 48 6500k bulbs are around $13 a piece also and the fixture is 20 a piece. Thank's for your input I know have a better piece of mind going into this experiment. :joy:
