LPS die off regrowth

Have a question: I have a few branching LPS frags I bought(hammer, candy) that have a few dead branches on them. (corals doing well in my tank, not a whats causing it question) Can a new polyp grow out of the dead branch? If so what can I do to encourage re-growth? If Not should I leave the branches or cut them off? Comments appreciated.

occasionally there will be living tissue deep within the skeleton, alowwing a head to come back but not very often, I would remove the dead branches and set them somewhere else in the tank. that way your live colony looks nice not half dead, and the dead stalks become part of your LR and if they ever regenerate, you havent thrown them out, if not you can always grow other corals on their stalks, like zoas look pretty cool when completly covering a branching structure.

Thanks, I figured that would be the case but wanted to make sure. What is the best way to cut the branches off and with what? I have not done this before. Thanks

since the branches are dead you can just grab them and snap them off. just be carefull not to bruise the living heads hold it so your only touching skeleton not flesh, kind of tricky.
