LR and water changes

My LR is pretty close to the top of my tank, when I do a water change some may be exposed to the air. Is this a problem?

depends, how long will it be exposed? and what's on the top of the lr...if it's just short time while you're adding more water, it should be fine, but don't wait hours or anything before adding the new water.

Its not going to be out of the water long enough to harm anything. I still keep stuff growing on mine, doesn't seem to to anything to it.

i agree that if the rock is only exposed for a minute or so, then it will be fine. of course you woudn't want to expose corals, etc.

No? Even with LR in it? Hmm. The ammonia is gonna go through the roof. Wouldn't that be called curing?

Cycling a tank with LR and Curing LR are two different things.
Curing LR... You should do 100% water changes every week is what I read at reputable websites.
