LR bath?

Alright so some im moving my tank to a different location in the house and im using this as an opertunity to clean up some mistakes I made as a rookie.
Im replacing some sand and I want to give my LR a good scrubbing.
Would it be alright to scrub the rock in FRESH RO water? Not salt water?
And can you keep LR in fresh water for a long period of time or will it start to die off?
ONE MORE QUESTION---I have two rocks that have zoos attached to them, How bad would it be to scrub those rocks with the coral on it in fresh water?

I would not do it, just use tank water.

Why are you scrubbing the rocks, you have a perfect opportunity to cycle your tank with them and the bacteria attached to them? Just wondering. You can give them a power wash in tank water with a powerhead just to get rid of all the crap inside all those nooks and crannies. I also just read that you can use a dental water pik to power wash as well.
