LR in Filter?

Hi All, Has anyone tried using live rock in a canister filter. I currently run a fluval 404 and an eheim 2227 w/d empty just for circulation. Thank You

I actually thought of this as well...but in a fluval how would you light the LR to keep it alive? The bacteria and algae do need it right?
