lr question

I have a 55 gallon tank, it is in the second week of the nitrogen cycle. My am is at .5 and my nitrite is at .05 and my nitrate is 0. Anybody think I would run into problems by adding about 40 lbs. of lr?

Nope, you can add lr, it'll help the cycle.
btw, some will suggest you get more lr, 1-1.5lbs per gallon. You can add some base rock with that live rock and the lr will seed the base rock and the base rock will become lr.

where can i get base rock at?

most lfs have some, other than that I don't know. You could try to make your own, takes about 3 months (see DIY)

I think I will stick to buying it... I will ask my lfs if they carry it. I know they sell live rock so I don't see why they wouldn't.

base rock won't be in the water, it may be in empty tanks for sell, or in a bin or shelves somewhere
