Would I be better off replacing the ceramic rings in my canister filter with lr rubble? Water tests always come out fine but I was wondering about the long term effects of the ceramic rings.

That stuff is use for your bacteria colony and they'll be fine. Just be sure to rinse with your tank water, not tap water. Don't clean it completely either. The sponge part you can clean it well and the rock part too, just not the ring stuff. You don't want to put LR rubble in there, it serves no purpose inside for bacterial growth, IMO. :happyfish
