Does you need light for live rock. The reason why I'm asking is I just set my refug up and I want to get some live rock for it.
Or do you feel I should get a light for the whole refug.
yep, i would go with just sand and macro algaes. and of course light. You dont need anything fancy. Some people use the PC lights that go in a normal base like a household lightbulb. Not sure of the wattage though. The macros just need the lower end of the spectrum.
i just bought a pc that fits into a clamp light ay home depot for about $15.00 the watts are as follows uses 20 watts of power but puts out 75 watts of light it says it will last for 14 years under normal use but if you leave it on all the time it wont be that long. i highly recommend it. gl.
Without light, will it still be a good source of filteration? I wanted to add some to my sump instead of bioballs, and will set up a seperate refuge above my DT later on with macros.
