Hi Iam new at this site and also new at SW Tank. I have a couple of questions 1. can I use a standard double flourensent light for LR and how much LR in lbs. for a 90 gal tank. Also is any one type of LR better than another. TY in advance for any help.

If you are planning a FOWLR then NO lighting is just fine if you want corals then you will need better lighting. As far as how much and what kind, the two are kind of related. If you go with figi or another type of very porus rock then you will want around 1.5-2lbs per gallon. If you go with florida aquaculture or another type of more dense rock then you will need more rock. What you may want to do is go to a couple LFS and see what the different types of rock are like then you can look online for the best deal.
