ls bubbles

my 90 has been up and running for 2 weeks. i have 80 lbs. ls and 100 lbs. lr.
my question is , why does my sand emit bubbles , and is this normal?

there are pockets of air in there from when yo put i in and as the watre pressure pushes it, the bubbles will apear

Sometime bubbles are the first stage of cyno [red algae] . What are your water levels ? Do you have a phosphate test kit ? I`d get one if the bubbles don`t go away soon as cyno might develop . Phosphates cause cyno and other algae problems .

the bubbles are small and emminate wherever ther is no rock, see them mostly in the evening after the pc's have been on for awhile.

brown algea is also starting to develope on the ls.

Did you ever have nitrate? Being that your nitrate is zero, I am worried that you did not cycle the tank enough.

What are you using to cycle? Water does not cycle itself. You have to have an ammonia source. Add a raw shrimp or some fish food. Wait for the ammonia to hit 1ppm. Then the ammonia will come down (if you remove the source) then your nitrites will spike. When you get nitrates the cycle is done.
