Does the LS from SWF.com need/should be added to the tank right away like LR? Or can you wait for a few days before adding?
Is there some sort of shelf-life? Thanks.

The sand they sell is NATURES OCEAN,and comes in a sealed bag with water in it.It can be added directly to the tank at any time before the expiration date.I just bought a bag the other day and it's dated to be good till Oct 15,2002.So you have plenty of time...

Thanks Salty, so it has water in the bag??
What kind of coverage can you expect with SWF's 40# bag of LS?
The formula's (to calc the #lbs of LS for a tank) I have seen on this BBS are (W * H * Depth)/23.5 or (20). Given a 60" x 18" tank, each 1" of LS depth would equate to about 45# or just under 1 bag. Does that seem about right?

Yeah its the same stuff as the lfs ( prepackaged. I just used it and love it.For those of you who are going to or are considering switching from CC to LS, one of the easiest ways I found to get the CC out of the tank without losing alot of water is to use a very large cat litter scoop. But please make sure it is a NEW scoop! feline urine has tremedous amonuts of ammonia! So please don't use the old one :D
