ls over cc

I originaly started out with a ls, cc mix with cc on top. After reading all of the post I decided to get more ls, but I didn't take out the cc I just put the ls on top. Is this ok or should I try to remove the cc. If I should remove it how would you suggest. Thanks for any help.

IMO, its better to have just LS then to have a mixture of LS/CC. I personally, would take the CC out of the tank!! Since you have alrdy added the sand with the CC this could be a tough job. You could try straining the CC out of the LS, with some sort of CLEAN "pooper scooper, for cat litter". This will be a big hassle, you may be better off just leaving it how it is(as long as your water is ok).
