That helps a lot... but I am going to change the substrate. I don't have a place to put my fish while I wait for the bed to mature. I am not sure how I am going to do this. Is this a good plan?
1. Buy Livesand from SWF.com most likely, buy playsand or quickcrete sand from a store, wash playsand.
2. Take all living organisms out of fish tank and put in VERY temporary smaller one. like, an overnight temporary is all that will work. It'll have an Air pump and a heater. Water from main tank to eliminate transfer shock.
3a. Add the Playsand, then the Livesand on top, try not to cloud water with particles by adding with a large plastic cup.
3b. Add Livesand, then Playsand. See 3a.
(Oh, this will be done in the MORNING.)
4a. Wait till evening. If water is not too cloudy, add fish back again.
4b. Wait until next morning, add fish again.
Does that sound good? Tell me which of the a/b options will be better.
