LS V. Aragonite

Want to know if I should put Aragonite or LS in Refugium. Aquarium is already established. If I do just use aragonite is it OK to rinse it under tap water, I use R/O in my tank.

I woulld just get dry aragonite and rinse it well with tap and use ro/di for a final rinse...I have added sand this way a couple times in my established system and it seeds quickly...

Thank you. I got the aragonite and am in the process of setting it all up. Just need the overflow to be shipped here.

I recommend mixing them. LS provides some bacteria to help get your tank started and it may also have other organisms. Aragonite is a very good pH buffer. Together they make a very good substrate.

I think there are some misconceptions here.
Live sand should be aragonite. Aragonite is what the sand is composed of.
