Hey everybody, my long tentacle anemone has been in my tank for about three days. At first, I was disappointed because my yellow-stripe marroon clown would not host. It still won't, for that matter, but I understand it may take more time that others. If anyone has any proven tips for expediting this process, I would love to hear them; I have heard about the picture method, but I don't think I would be willing to waste the paper and ink, especially since I fear that I would end up feeling like a dummy (No offense to those that have resorted to said method).
But anyway, I know these guys will usually make food of other smaller fish (I've read they'll do the same with shrimp). However, here is where my confusion develops: I have two little yellow clown gobies and two peppermint shrimp. I have been spot-feeding the LTA (or attempting to), and the gobies and shrimp feel free to just roam right onto the LTA and pick up the mysis shrimp. Shouldn't the anemone be stinging them?
One more problem that I have would be with my Heniochus Butterfly... I have read that caution is required between housing anemones and corals with these guys, and as I was expecting, the Heniochus is beginning to get comfortable... A little too comfortable, in fact. I caught him biting into the end of one of the tentacles for a taste, and I'm worried this will continue and progress into a danger for my LTA. Am I going to have to take the Butterfly out of the tank, or can they peacefully co-exist?
Thank you to anyone willing to help, as I'm sure I am asking several simple (and potentially dumb) questions that have been answered before.
