IMO, BTAs require less light, but I hope this isn't gonna cause you to go out and buy one. It still will not live under your lighting.

i know some one who has a thriving LTA under 4.3w per gallon ( pc lights i think ) i have from 3.5-4.3w per gallon of pc lights too, and since a LTA needs more i wouldnt be able to keep it becuase my lights are .5w per gallon off?

Watts per gallon is not what matters most. It is lights intensity. Light intensity depends on depth, bulb type, watts, and a few other variables.
Here is an example of why the wpg rule does not work. If I put an anemone into a .75 gallon with 13 watts of pc lighting, that would mean it has about 17 wpg. That would equal 1275 watts of pc on a 75 gallon tank. The anemone can not survive under 13 watts of light, but it can survive under 1275.

Yeah, and I had a Sebae anemone under 260w of PC's. 2 daylight 65w, and 2 actinic 65w, and he did just fine.......
for about a month, before he bleached out and died. Boy I wish I'd have known about THIS sight, because I woulda got some good advice instead of the crap the LFS told me!!
I would think a LTA needs more also because it sits in the substrate, further from the light source, whereas a BTA can climb the walls when he gets desperate.

Then it would start looking for the substrate like most LTA's would, then it would also search for more light, then it may (possibly) decline, and die.
Of course I can't say for absolute sure.
I could say that your attitude is a bit irresponsible by saying "If it dies its my loss" I could only request that you act responsibly for the creatures under your care.
My best suggestion would be to find an alternative host for your clowns. It is possible, and I think perhaps the BTA would be a better long term suggestion for you.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
My post is not meant to be offensive, only constructive.

i think a BTA 7" from the light would get by. i dont want it to multiply and take over my tank

7"?!?! More like 2" from the light, especially with just 65 watts. I am still against getting one though with that little lighting.

Everyday for over half a year, nope, will not work. Add another 65 watt bulb then I think it may work, it will have a much better chance.
